So Philly, no problem with CFX in XP when clicking on the border of CFX app, like when dragging the app around to move it? Maybe it's only the free version?

Just went back and tried moving the CFX Window around by clicking on the frame or border of the app. No problem, so it might be something tied to the free version.

How so? I purchased the plus version. I downloaded a new one. Saved it as CursorFX, hit save, hit apply, no go...?

I opened up CFX Plus, click more cursors, clicked the WC link, pick a XP cursor, hit download, selected open. It downloaded and it came up with a window showing a zip file, I double clicked it and it loaded directly into CFX with not problem. I should mention that I use the WC Browser and that I'm on an XP system.

Thanks Phily -
I get all the way to double clicking the zip file and then nothing. I'll try reinstalling FX. I appreciate your help.

I found another thing when using Firefox to download cusors. When I click on a cursor in the gallery, FF has the option to download or open the file with the chosen app (in this case CFX). I previously did this with CXP and it always loaded the cursor in
C:\Program Files\cursorxp\themes and worked.

When downloading and opening any cursor from the gallery in CFX using FF the file is placed in
C\Documents and Settings\"Current User"\Local Settings\Temp which is the wrong directory.

It should be placing the downloaded file in: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\CursorFX\Themes

For any Free CFX users out there I'll post a summary and put a ticket up in SD Support for what it's worth. Don't see how a free version has all these issues when the free version is the bait on the hook for reeling in new customers.

In summary there are three problems I have found with the free public version of CFX so far:
1. The App goes transparent when any border is clicked.
2. When using 'open with' option in FF the file is downloaded to the wrong directory
3. All cursor themes (CFX or CXP) cannot be double clicked to run. The CFX app must be used to select the cursor.

No problem CaseySz, be sure you reboot between uninstalling and reinstalling, I know you know that.

Unfortunately - I still have had no luck. Moreover, there are other glitches such as, when I appy a new cursor (from those already included in the plus version) it still reads abracadabra as the current cursor and when I open the editor half of the operating "box" is missing. I have uninstalled, rebooted and re-installed with no results. Any other advice?

thefirst time i loaded fx; for a minute or two i loved it. missed the sound. then started having more issues when i brought cursorxp into the equation. then it just grew from there...

but then

i found that if you wear a bra on your head, dance in a casual spiraling manner about the respective cpu(s), and sing "que sera, sera" the whole experience gels into a moment of surrealistic clarity and the paradoxical gelling moment spied in my dresser's mirror, reflected edvard munch dancing with albert (camus) while dostoyevski scribbled madly in a huge leather bound manual everytime edvard stepped on albert's feet.

in summary my friends: "c'est ci ne pas une pipe"

killajosh, if I am not mistaken that method does not work with CursorFX Free version. It does not work on my machine and several others who have posted have confirmed this. Do you have CursorFX Plus?

Yes, I do have CFX+

I also figured out that I can just click the CXP file and that works now, too.....

My bad. I got here by a search and, for some dumb reason, the back arrow didn't respond. Thanks for the quick splash of cold water.
